My name is Anna Boland and I’m an English Teaching Assistant (ETA) at the Erich Kästner Gymnasium in Laatzen for the 2017-2018 school year. I grew up in Virginia, not far from Washington D.C., and received my B.A. from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in 2016. In September 2016, I came to Hannover as an ETA for a vocational school (berufsbildende Schule) and enjoyed it so much that I decided to pursue a second year. As an ETA, I have the opportunity to interact with many students and assist in improving their English language abilities, as well as spark their interest in the United States and American culture. After this year as an ETA, I hope to pursue a M.A. in Intercultural Communication and Education at the Universität zu Köln.
